SANDY IS HERE ALREADY
Is Sandy, short for Sandra a damsel or pretty chick? No. Sandy is a natural disaster. It is a hurricane. As at 2.04 pm ET today 29th October 2012, Hurricane Sandy had claimed at least 67 lives - including 51 in Haiti. In the United States, schools are closed, businesses shuttered and mass transit suspended. This is clearly indicative that Sandy had started inflicting damage on properties, businesses and claiming lives of people. If it were in Nigeria or in deed any sub-Sahara African country how much losses would have been recorded?

The tree below was an early sign of losses.

What is a hurricane?
A hurricane is a type of tropical cyclone or severe tropical storm. It forms in the southern Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, Gulf of Mexico, and in the eastern Pacific Ocean. A typical cyclone is accompanied by thunderstorms, and in the Northern Hemisphere, a counterclockwise circulation of winds near the earth’s surface. The Atlantic hurricane season begins in June and lasts up to November, with the peak season in mid-August to late October. Hurricanes can cause catastrophic damage to coastlines and several hundred miles inland. Hurricane can produce winds exceeding 155 miles per hour as well as tornadoes. Additionally, hurricanes can create storm surges along the coast and cause extensive damage from heavy rainfall. Floods and flying debris from the excessive winds are often the deadly and destructive results of these weather events. Slow moving hurricanes traveling into mountainous regions tend to produce especially heavy rain. Excessive rain can trigger landslides or mud slides. Flash flooding can also occur as a result of heavy rainfall. Other natural disasters include Drought, Earthquakes, Extreme Heat, Floods, Landslides, Severe Weather, Space Weather, Thunderstorms, Tornadoes, Tsunamis, Volcanoes, Wildfires, Winter Storms & Extreme Cold, Pandemic and Home Fires.

MENOPAUSE

Menopause

Menopause (also known as the "Change of life" or climacteric) is a stage of the human female reproductive cycle that occurs as the ovaries stop producing estrogen, causing the reproductive system to gradually shut down. As the body adapts to the changing levels of natural hormones, vasomotor symptoms such as hot flashes and palpitations appear.

Hysterectomy

A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus, usually done by a gynecologist.Hysterectomy may be total (removing the body and cervix of the uterus) or partial (also called supra-cervical).

Multi-infarct dementia

Multi-infarct dementia, also known as vascular dementia, is a form of dementia resulting from brain damage caused by stroke or transient ischemic

ESTROGEN

While estrogens are present in both men and women, they are usually present at significantly higher levels in women of reproductive age.
They promote the development of female secondary sex characteristics, such as breasts, and are also involved in the thickening of the endometrium and other aspects of regulating the menstrual cycle.
Like all steroid hormones, estrogens readily diffuse across the cell membrane; inside the cell, they interact with estrogen receptors.
The three major naturally occurring estrogens in women are estradiol, estriol and estrone.
Estrogens are used as part of some oral contraceptives and also in estrogen replacement therapy of post-menopausal women.

Hormone replacement therapy

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is a system of medical treatment for perimenopausal and postmenopausal women, based on the assumption that it may prevent discomfort and health problems caused by diminished circulating estrogen hormones.
The treatment involves a series of drugs designed to artificially boost hormone levels.
The main types of hormones involved are estrogens, progesterone or progestins, and sometimes testosterone

Progesterone
— Progesterone is a C-21 steroid hormone involved in the female menstrual cycle, pregnancy (supports gestation) and embryogenesis of humans and other
